Interim Senior Project Delivery Manager £600-800pd

Role: Senior Project Delivery Manager (Change Portfolio)

Rate: £600 - £800 per day DoE (OUTSIDE IR35)

Location: Hybrid working and UK-wide sites

Contract: Deliverable, Milestone, and outcome-based model

We're supporting a major Public Sector organisation to strengthen its central Change Portfolio function.

This Senior Project Delivery Manager will take accountability for delivering complex change outcomes, improving delivery discipline, and helping teams adopt consistent ways of working.

This is a senior, hands‑on role suited to someone who can operate comfortably with senior stakeholders, move between strategy and delivery detail, and drive momentum across multiple workstreams.

What you'll do
  • Lead delivery of one or more complex change initiatives within a wider portfolio, delivering defined outcomes, milestones and benefits
  • Shape delivery approach, governance, controls and reporting to support portfolio-level oversight
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and decision – drive mitigations and escalation as needed
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems and fast‑moving priorities
  • Mentor delivery teams and support continuous improvement in delivery practice across the portfolio
Requirements
  • Strong track record leading delivery of complex change programmes/projects in large, regulated organisations
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management, governance and decision‑making facilitation
  • Deep understanding of delivery controls, including planning, RAID, benefits, reporting, and delivery assurance
  • Confident leading multi‑disciplinary teams and influencing
  • Project and Programme Management Certification
  • Ideally, familiarity with government‑aligned delivery standards and assurance environments
  • Advantageous would be exposure to tech‑enabled transformation, service redesign, or operational change at scale
Security & Compliance

You must hold or be eligible for UK Government Security Vetting, and be able to work with sensitive delivery information.
