A dynamic education trust located in Greater London is seeking an Interim Finance Manager for a 5-month contract. This pivotal role involves leading financial management across the Trust, producing management accounts, supporting budgeting and financial reporting, as well as guiding a team of Finance Officers. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience in education finance, and excellent analytical skills. The position requires onsite presence 3-4 days a week and offers a day rate of £350 or a fixed-term contract at £60K.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day financial management across the Trust and its academies.
  • Produce high-quality monthly management accounts, analysis and commentary.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
  • Manage payroll, VAT returns, statutory reporting and financial compliance.
  • Review ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust internal controls.
  • Guide and develop Finance Officers, bringing out their best.
  • Drive value-for-money decisions and support tendering and contract negotiations.
  • Contribute to governance, continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
