Job description

As an Instrument & Process Control Technician at NORIT Activated Carbon, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our production processes. Your expertise in instrumentation and control systems will ensure that our operations run efficiently and safely. You'll be working closely with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and maintain compliance with safety regulations. You will report to and work closely with Calibrations and Controls Engineer.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Performing troubleshooting and repair of process control systems and instruments.
  • Calibrating and validating measurement and control equipment.
  • Documenting maintenance activities and updating records for equipment performance.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to upgrade and optimize control systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Completed degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Control, or a related field. HND is a minimum requirement.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a continuous manufacturing process environment.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
  • Experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and other control technologies.
  • Experience with process control project management.
  • Experience in control system design and software engineering.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to work in shifts as required.
