A UK government agency is looking for an Insights Manager to join their Commercial team. This role involves gathering customer insights, interpreting data into actionable plans, and managing insights projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer-facing roles, strong communication and time management skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The position offers competitive salary, generous benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more.
Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we're on. In our world, it all matters.
Balancing quality and value is a real skill, and it's one shared by our Commercial team, who make sure we meet the needs of government customers. They're the specialists who shape services with expert insights, win work through expert bid management, and help us reach new customers each day. Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.
Build powerful insights, craft our future.
As an Insights Manager at FCDO Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our future. You’ll be assigned a portfolio, strategic or customer. You’ll seek to gain a deeper understanding of customer perspectives on the strategic position of FCDO Services compared to competitors. Build your insights from a mix of formal, informal, qualitative and quantitative methods. This will include conducting interviews, looking at financial data, and surveys.
Turn insights into impactful plans. Once you’ve gathered information, you’ll interpret it into usable, clear insights. From there, you’ll determine the most appropriate approach for each insights project. Plus, you’ll formulate a structured annual research plan to monitor progress and ensure that all milestones are being met.
You’ll be like a lens into our future. With your insight and plans being actualised months down the line, which will be rewarding to see.
Experienced and comfortable in a customer‑facing role, you can provide high levels of service. You’re confident and effective at dealing with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. This is backed by strong communication skills, verbally and in writing.
Also, you’re highly organised with superb time‑management skills, you’re able to apply project management principles too. Even under pressure, you’re able to stay calm and manage changing priorities. This is complemented by experience providing administrative support and meeting management. You can collate, prepare and analyse data for customer, financial and/or commercial reporting. Your attention to detail is strong and backed by proofreading experience. High proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel will be key too.
It would be desirable for you to have knowledge of how FCDO Services, as well as business (product/service) lifecycle, functions. Experience of any of the following is also desirable: running customer budgets, project financials and/or delivery processes; preparing and delivering presentations to audiences; using CRM, project planning or ERP systems.
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, you can expect a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on‑site gym, nursery, café and restaurant, and we offer interest‑free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It’s a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting at fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
