A major UK retailer is seeking an Insight Executive in Business Performance. This role focuses on generating customer insights and ensuring data integrity. You will analyze data from various sources, managing queries and reporting on performance. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. You'll enjoy a collaborative work environment, great benefits including a performance-related bonus, and a commitment to inclusivity and development.
Join the Business Performance arm of our Customer Insight team, where we partner with divisions across Sainsbury's to put customers at the heart of every decision. Our team supports senior stakeholders and decision makers, providing actionable customer insights that drive strategic choices and shape the future of our business. You'll collaborate with a range of Sainsbury's and agency teams, ensuring a unified view of performance and the highest standards of data accuracy. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fast‑paced environment where your work directly influences the direction of one of the UK's leading retailers.
As an Insight Executive in Business Performance, you'll focus on two key pillars: Insights Generation and Data Integrity. Day‑to‑day, you'll develop a deep understanding of customer, market, and commercial data—from CSAT and Customer Mindsets to EPOS and Panel data. You'll create impactful recommendations by overlaying different data sources, joining the dots to deliver clear, actionable insights. You'll support and lead strategic projects across Sainsbury's brands, building strong relationships with stakeholders such as Commercial Operations, Investor Relations, and Corporate Affairs.
Your work will include managing market data queries, validating reports, refreshing data hierarchies, and rolling out self‑serve tools to the business. Regular reporting on Sainsbury's performance will be a core part of your remit, with a focus on ensuring data integrity and consistency across all outputs.
You're passionate about data integrity and thrive on analysing information from varied sources to uncover the 'so what'. Strategic thinking and a hypothesis‑led approach help you break down complex problems and deliver clarity to the business. You're comfortable working with large data sets in a retail or FMCG context, and you know how to bring together first and third‑party data, collaborating closely with agencies. Attention to detail, organisation, and project management are among your strengths.
You are adept at pulling and validating data from different sources, ensuring it's fit for purpose, and you can explain and interpret outputs in a simple, engaging way. You're a confident communicator, able to address complex data challenges and drive continuous improvement, and you possess excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills to streamline processes and enhance delivery performance.
We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. Around here, there's always the chance to try something new whether that's as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business – and we take development seriously and promise to support you.
We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you’ll be welcomed wherever you work. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. These include:
Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you, which is why we offer up to 26 weeks' pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks' pay for paternity leave.
