Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Inpatient Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield, a Category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.

Hours

Long days and nights.

  • 0715-1900 days
  • 1900-0715 nights
  • Potential weekend and bank holiday cover.

This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
  • Lead the development of individualised patients' care plans, collaboratively working with the inpatient team and championing clinical excellence.
  • Support patients on a daily basis to achieve activities of daily living to ensure the best quality of life, ensuring collaborative delivery.
  • Ensure quality care planning and continuity of care through improving relationships and communication with partners and other services.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference, as defined through our Health in Justice competency framework.
