A leading technology consultancy in the UK is seeking an Infrastructure / Wintel Systems Design Architect. You'll capture the current state of the Data Centre technology and provide hardware and systems engineering design. This role requires strong technical documentation skills, knowledge of data center resilience, and the ability to understand power usage and cooling. This position is essential in developing and implementing technical solutions that meet customer requirements, and it involves interfacing with suppliers and customers at a technical level.

Infrastructure / Wintel Systems Design Architect (SC Cleared)

As an Instructure / Microsoft Systems Architect you will report to the Project Technical Lead. Your responsibilities will include capturing the “As Is” state of the Data Centre technology. This requires surveying the existing technology stack from the ground up.

Be able to read and write to existing documentation The ability to reverse engineer the current CER’s and depict this in artefacts and technical drawings. Calling out UPS, AC, Rack setups, device inspection and hardware knowledge across many providers

Be able to understand and compute power usage and cooling

Understanding modern DC resilience on all aspects. Knowledge or Data Centre tiers.

Your main responsibilities as an Infrastructure Systems Engineer will involve :

  • Providing Hardware and Systems Engineering design to the business development activities including study / experimentation activities, system de-risking activities, interfacing with suppliers and interaction with prospective customers at a technical level
