Executive Summary

The Infrastructure Senior Group Manager is a pivotal senior management-level position at Citi, responsible for leading and guiding a team to ensure efficient and effective Citi infrastructure in coordination with the Technology Team and the business. The role's overarching objective is to leverage infrastructure technology knowledge and established policies to process data, resolve issues, and execute administrative tasks. This strategic role also drives the modernization of employee experience and operational efficiency through digital technology adoption, encompassing digital transformation strategies, project implementation, change management, technology evaluation, and stakeholder collaboration.

Job Overview

The Infrastructure Senior Group Manager manages and guides a team focused on maintaining and enhancing Citi's infrastructure. This involves applying in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of the subject domain, managing resources and budgets, and making strategic decisions related to technology and business strategy. A critical aspect of the role is to assess risk, ensure compliance with regulations, adhere to Citi’s policy, and maintain ethical judgment while managing control issues and team accountability.

The role will be part of the Digital Workplace and Client Services On‑site support team. This team enables the firm’s strategic priorities through workplace digital transformation by supporting a highly mobile workforce that can work anywhere, anytime. Provides on‑site technical support and delivery as well as technology leadership at all Citi locations globally by partnering with the local business and representing Foundational Services (FS) in the geographies when required, or when there is limited presence from other FS groups. Supports executive events, town halls, conferences, and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Resource Management: Leading, evaluating, providing resources, and driving a team towards realistic goals. This also involves managing sizeable resources, budget, policy formulation, and strategic decisions.
  • Technical & Strategic Oversight: Applying in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of subject domain/area to manage large, complex systems/services/initiatives. This is complemented by a broad knowledge‑base in multiple functional areas and an understanding of underlying business strategy.
  • Process Improvement: Ensuring essential processes and procedures are in place and contributing to defining and re‑engineering improvements.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Influencing and negotiating with senior leaders across functions and communicating with external parties as needed.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Appropriately assessing risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup's reputation and assets, driving compliance with laws and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, escalating and managing control issues with transparency, and supervising team activity to ensure standards are met.
Qualifications
  • Overall Experience: Extensive experience in the technology sector, with a significant portion dedicated to technology infrastructure.
  • Technology Infrastructure Expertise: Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust technology infrastructure environments, including but not limited to network architecture, data center operations, cloud platforms (public, private, hybrid), and enterprise systems.
  • Wider Technology Acumen: Broad understanding and proven experience across the wider technology landscape, encompassing strategic technology planning, financial applications, cybersecurity technologies, payments systems, and digital transformation initiatives, preferably within a regulated financial services global context.
  • Leadership: Minimum of five years of senior leadership or management experience, responsible for driving technology strategy, execution, team management and development.
  • Autonomy & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with virtual teams in high‑pressure, matrix environments.
  • Ownership: Ability to take ownership of project/initiative parts with tight deadlines or unexpected changes.
Education
  • Required: Engineering Graduate or MCA or equivalent qualification from a recognized university/institution.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and provide excellent customer service, especially to senior executives.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing technology projects, from planning to implementation and post‑deployment support.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic global environment and adapt to evolving technology landscapes.
  • Global Mindset: Understanding of global business operations and challenges in supporting a distributed workforce across different regions and time zones.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand business needs and align technology solutions with strategic objectives.
