An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cabot Financial in Kings Hill as an Infrastructure Operations Team Leader. This is a hybrid role with travel to Kings Hill, ME19 4UA, when required. Some London and European travel may also be required.
Job Purpose
As the Infrastructure Operations Team Leader, you will drive operational excellence across all facets of IT systems and operations, ensuring robust, scalable infrastructure and services while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You and your team will lead technical diagnosis and resolution of incidents, as well as maintaining and innovating the infrastructure and services we provide to the business.
You will manage a team responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware both on-premise and in cloud-based environments, as well as remotely supporting staff as needed and working with group entities globally.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of highly skilled infrastructure engineers.
- Vulnerability and patch management.
- Application management including support and upgrades.
- Ensure service availability across the group, factoring into solution scoping and daily operations.
- Make decisions on incoming work on behalf of the business/IT Ops.
- Review and vet project-related work requiring infrastructure, software, or services.
- Engage technical resources for project deliverables – internal and external.
- Maintain knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends.
- Contribute to governance across IT – tech, services, processes, info sec.
- Deliver new functionality while protecting existing services.
- Manage and maintain risks to prevent outages or revenue loss.
- Deliver annual disaster recovery testing using best-in-class technology.
- Work within ITIL processes and support CCM principles.
- Support audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance with documented IT controls.
- Plan proactively for future needs.
- Maintain relationships with technology, software, and security vendors.
- Support, guide, and influence within the business.
- Ensure security is integrated into hardware, applications, and software evaluations and configurations.
- Assist with infrastructure management, maintenance, and service delivery.
- Provide escalation support for out-of-hours incidents/issues.
- Support the technical services team on 2nd and 3rd line incidents, managing them to resolution.
- Monitor and troubleshoot technical infrastructure, performing preventative maintenance.
- Support and coach infrastructure team members.
- Participate in infrastructure design planning.
- Document processes, procedures, and standards; maintain system documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve technical issues.
- Support operations in resolving high-impact or complex problems.
- Be available for out-of-hours work as needed.
- Prioritize security in all solutions and support InfoSec teams.
- Work with senior management to ensure compliance with regulations and laws.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
- Team and management skills.
- Expertise in Windows Server, VMware, Microsoft, Dell, Citrix infrastructure.
- Experience with Exchange, Office 365, Azure AD, PowerShell scripting.
- Knowledge of security products, Dell and NetApp hardware, storage, backup, web technologies, Active Directory, networking, load balancing, and clustering.
- Proactive problem-solving and excellent documentation skills.
Desirable
- Specialized knowledge in Exchange, Citrix XenDesktop, backup solutions, patch management, Rapid 7.
- Experience with architecture, ITIL, troubleshooting, networking, and support in financial services.
- Relevant certifications like MCSE, VCP, Cisco.
