A global technology firm is seeking an experienced Windows Endpoint Infrastructure/Security Engineer to join their Cyber Data Risk & Resilience team in Glasgow. This hybrid role involves working within a cross-disciplinary Agile team to design and implement security measures for a large enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive IT experience, deep knowledge of Windows endpoints, and proficiency in automation scripting. The position is ideal for someone passionate about enhancing endpoint security across cloud and on-premise platforms.
Windows Endpoint Infrastructure/Security Engineer
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Contract: Initial 6-month assignment
Rate: £55 p/h PAYE
We are seeking an experienced Windows Endpoint Infrastructure/Security Engineer to join a global Enterprise Security team within a large, complex technology environment. This role sits within Cyber Data Risk & Resilience and plays a key part in delivering enterprise-wide endpoint security capabilities across on‑premise and cloud platforms.
You will work as part of a cross‑disciplined, Agile team focused on DevOps practices, responsible for designing, engineering, deploying, and operating security controls that protect desktops, laptops, servers, and cloud workloads. The team delivers preventative, detective, and hardening controls, alongside Real Time endpoint detection and response, at significant enterprise scale.
The successful candidate will bring deep hands‑on experience with Windows endpoint internals, automation, and large‑scale enterprise environments (50,000+ endpoints). You will contribute to solution design from proof of concept through to production, troubleshoot complex Windows issues, and continuously improve platform quality through peer reviews, retrospectives, and refactoring.
Key skills and experience include:
Desirable experience includes Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, disk encryption and OS hardening, SCCM/Intune, Splunk, cloud security controls, and working within DevOps or SRE‑aligned teams.
