We work to improve coordination of infrastructure planning and delivery to reduce disruption in London.

Infrastructure coordination services

The Mayor, with backing from industry leaders in the Mayor’s London Infrastructure Group and the Lane Rental Surplus Fund, set up an Infrastructure Coordination Service (ICS) to drive better collaboration in the planning and delivery of London’s Infrastructure.

The award-winning service brings significant benefits for industry and Londoners, mainly reducing disruption caused by maintenance or delivery of new infrastructure across London.

It has three interrelated service lines supported by innovative data tools and policy experts who use regulatory and policy levers to deliver long-term, sustainable change across the sector.

• The Streets Service is changing the way street works are delivered across London.
• Developers use our service in London’s boroughs to benefit from more timely utility connections for their projects.
• The Planning Service brings together boroughs and utilities to plan for the infrastructure needs of high growth areas.

We are working on the development of a range of tools that greatly improve the ways infrastructure is planned, designed, built, maintained and upgraded.
