KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Information Manager.

This Information Manager role within our Digital function will focus on adopting our information management process across the Devonport Royal Dockyard project, ensuring compliance with industry standards, focusing on ISO 19650, and helping to deliver against client requirements. The Information Manager will also highlight any errors throughout the quality assurance process and have awareness of the golden thread and associated requirements.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK resident for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Making Possible

As an Information Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Contribute to the development of minimum standards, protocols, templates, forms, processes, and manuals in conjunction with the Digital Construction Lead.
  • Implement our Digital by Default strategy for information management including the systems and processes for the CDE across all live projects.
  • Contribute towards the development of group standard training material and the monitoring of upskilling
  • Actively seek feedback from business unit employees on the use of the CDE and communicate this information to management.
  • Conduct audits and generate reports for compliance on live projects, working with the project teams to close out any corrective action required.
  • Understand internal document management (WIP and unshared) using SharePoint, support effective business use and contribute to working group.
  • Deliver CDE advanced courses to information coordinators
  • Provide upskilling sessions to enable the information coordinators to deliver the CDE and essential courses to the project teams / stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing management of the information coordinators including PPR process, escalations, 1:1s, mentoring and training.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for digital information coordinators with the project teams
  • Ensure the EDMS is configured to the principals of the CDE and as described in BS EN ISO 19650.
  • Ensure Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs) are in place to support the Digital Construction team in managing the process.
  • Lead CDE launch meeting, initial general training of project team and existing external parties.
  • Ensure compliance checks are being conducted by information coordinators on all uploaded information.
  • Be the business unit point of contact for ad-hoc queries and troubleshooting in respect of the CDE and information control.
  • Troubleshoot and support for the projects on information management including user account set up, access permissions, and workflow configuration.
  • Ensure projects are archived appropriately with user permissions controlled and removed as required.
  • Work as a collaborative member of the team, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and best practice to the wider business.
What do you bring to the role?
  • Proficient in their understanding of the practical application of information management procedures,including effective, and complex workflows, change control and management
  • Demonstrative capability of delivering ISO 19650 across projects
  • Proficient in the management of EDMS configured to CDE principles, Viewpoint For Projects preferred
  • Understand user security permissions
  • Experience of working on projects with large volumes of data and information from various sources, tier-one company preferred
  • Experience of effective communication with multidisciplinary design teams, client teams and sub-contractors with the ability to educate all stakeholders in CDE protocols, ensuring adherence
  • Comprehension and administration of ISO 19650-2 National Annex, including TIDP and MIDP management
  • Experience of conducting audits
  • Ability and willingness to train others

  • Competent with the Microsoft 365 suite of tools, specifically Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Well organised and self-motivated with the ability to prioritise work, multitask and troubleshoot
