About the Role

As Information Hub Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of our campus and the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. You’ll play a key role in delivering essential information, supporting day-to-day operations, and ensuring everyone feels informed and supported. This is a varied role that requires excellent time management, prioritisation skills, and a calm, professional approach.

What You'll Do
  • Greet students, staff, and guests at the Campus Information Hub desk, creating a warm and professional first impression
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented reception area
  • Issue and monitor ID cards for students, staff, and visitors, and maintain accurate visitor records
  • Respond to enquiries in person, by phone, and via email, triaging effectively and directing them to appropriate resources
  • Liaise with campus departments to ensure the Information Hub remains a reliable and up-to-date resource
  • Support administrative teams with a range of tasks, including typing letters, managing student forms, booking auditions, and handling post
  • Monitor and authorise student absences via online forms
  • Maintain the telephone system and report any issues
  • Keep the storage room behind the Information Hub desk tidy and organised
  • Assist with general office duties to support the Information Hub Supervisor and wider administrative processes
What You'll Bring
  • A good level of general education, including English and Maths
  • Previous experience in a customer service and/or administrative role
  • Excellent telephone manner and ability to manage high call volumes
  • Strong time-keeping, organisational, and prioritisation skills
  • Professional personal presentation and communication skills
  • Friendly, empathetic attitude with a proactive approach to student support
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Computer literacy, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Desirable: experience working with diverse clientele, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with using computer databases

Working hours: 9:45am to 6:15pm (with a one-hour lunch break) during term time, and 9:00am to 5:30pm (with a one-hour lunch break) outside of term time.
