Overview

Information Governance Lead – Reference: JDFT 4817 1709. Salary: £21.66 per hour PAYE. Role length: 4 months. Job type: Temporary. Location: Worthing, Postcode BN11 1HS. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Contract Type: Remote / hybrid – one day in the office per month. Must be able to start ASAP.

The role involves joining the EPR Implementation team on a temporary basis to lead information governance activities during the project.

Responsibilities
  • DPIAs: Lead and write DPIAs for SystmOne, IMX Viewer, and third-party engagement, identifying and mitigating data protection risks with the DPO.
  • Policies & Procedures: Develop and implement practical IG policies, SOPs, and user guides.
  • Access & Security: Define role-based access requirements, ensure “need-to-know” data access, and audit access logs post-implementation.
  • Data Migration: Oversee data mapping, cleansing, and lawful transfer; set secure retention and disposal protocols for legacy records.
  • Information Sharing: Advise on new data sharing, drafting and negotiating Sharing Agreements as needed.
  • Risk & Incident Management: Log and mitigate IG risks; create a breach response plan for new systems.
  • Training: Design and deliver tailored IG training for all staff groups.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Provide clear IG updates and assurance to the Programme Board and key stakeholders.
What the client is looking for
  • Five years plus of demonstrable IG experience in the NHS.
  • Experience acquired across multiple NHS organisations.
  • Experience of platform migration projects.
  • Experience of training and supporting EPR systems.
