Start: ASAP | Duration: Contract - Ongoing | Postcode: NG7 7NW | Shifts: Monday - Friday

Pay Rates:

  • Rostered: PAYE £23.39/hr | Umbrella £29.84/hr
  • Un-Rostered: PAYE £29.24/hr | Umbrella £37.85/hr (After 12 Weeks)
  • Rostered: PAYE £23.39/hr | Umbrella £31.30/hr
  • Un-Rostered: PAYE £29.24/hr | Umbrella £39.68/hr
Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive Industrial Quality Engineer to join a safety-critical tram maintenance and manufacturing environment in Nottingham. You will ensure products, processes, and systems meet required quality and safety standards, working closely with industrial and project teams to drive improvements and resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections on sub-assemblies and finished products
  • Accept/reject products based on work instructions
  • Document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and controlled documents
  • Ensure calibration of inspection equipment
  • Assist in writing/updating inspection procedures and checklists
  • Identify quality risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Support manufacturing teams with self-inspection
  • Escalate production anomalies and stop production if necessary
  • Report inspection outcomes and KPIs to project leads
Skills & Experience
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office
  • Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing quality processes
  • Quality auditing experience (essential)
  • Relevant quality qualifications (desirable)
  • Proactive, independent, problem‑solving mindset
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation
  • Fluent English
