A well-regarded regional law firm is seeking an Associate-level Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) to join its growing Military Claims team, operating from modern offices in Leeds City Centre. This is a rare opportunity to work on high-profile and politically sensitive litigation involving serving military personnel and veterans.
While prior military claims experience is advantageous, the firm is equally interested in candidates with a Disease background who have managed high-value, complex litigation from inception to resolution.
Some claims will feature career and pension losses, and the caseload is expected to include matters such as deafness, discrimination, cold injuries, assaults, and other areas depending on future marketing developments.
A strong Personal Injury Litigator may also transition successfully into this role, provided they demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and a readiness to adapt.
The successful candidate will handle a caseload of complex personal injury claims arising from military service. These may involve defective equipment, training incidents, cold injuries, bullying and harassment, discrimination, noise‑induced hearing loss, and cases brought under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and Armed Forces Pension Schemes.
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor or CILEx lawyer with 3+ PQE in personal injury, industrial disease or ideally with experience in military claims or actions against the Ministry of Defence. Candidates outside this PQE range are welcome to apply if they can demonstrate relevant skills and expertise.
Applicants should have experience managing high-value and complex litigation in the County Court, High Court, and Tribunal Services, alongside a working understanding of the Service Complaints System. A genuine commitment to supporting service personnel and veterans is essential, as is the ability to manage sensitive and politically delicate matters with professionalism and discretion.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your career in a specialist area of personal injury law within a supportive, forward‑looking practice. The firm offers hybrid working, competitive remuneration, and genuine opportunities for professional development and business growth.
