Job summary

A housing support organization is seeking a proactive individual for a floating support role in Bury St Edmunds. The position involves managing properties for individuals under probation, ensuring safety and adherence to house rules, while also providing support. Candidates should have experience in social housing, with strong communication skills and the ability to handle challenging situations. This role requires resilience, organization, and a flexible approach to meet residents’ needs, alongside a valid driving license.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the social housing sector, ideally with people at risk of homelessness.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex trauma and issues.
  • Direct knowledge of People on Probation (POP) is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage properties allocated to the MOJ engaging with individuals with complex needs.
  • Ensure properties are safe, secure and clean.
  • Prepare accommodation for occupation in accordance with timescales.
  • Identify and resolve property and maintenance issues.
  • Undertake weekly visits to ensure residents adhere to house rules.
  • Manage reports of Anti-Social Behaviour and engage in conflict resolution.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and manage emergency situations.
