Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) – Newcastle

£18‑£22 per hour | 3+ month contract | Full‑time | Private Charity Role

We are looking for a dedicated IDVA to join a private charity in Newcastle, providing essential support to individuals experiencing domestic violence. This role involves advocating for clients, helping them access services, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy and support to individuals at risk of domestic abuse, including safety planning and risk assessments
  • Assist clients with court processes and referrals to relevant services (housing, legal, financial)
  • Develop individual safety plans and ensure ongoing support
  • Work with multi‑agency teams to ensure effective safeguarding
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to awareness efforts within the community
What You'll Need
  • Experience in domestic abuse support and safety planning
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and domestic abuse protocols
  • Strong advocacy skills and the ability to empower clients
  • Excellent communication and multi‑agency collaboration skills
  • A valid driving licence and flexibility to travel
