Qualifications

Independent Advocate – Spot Purchase

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £24,242.40
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday
Contract type: Permanent

What You’ll Do
  • Provide high quality instructed and non‑instructed advocacy according to the needs of the client and relevant to the service being provided
  • Act on behalf of clients at all times, including following their instructions, taking action as directed by them or representing their wishes, feelings, beliefs and values in a way that is consistent with the law, guidance and best practice
  • Evidence effective, outcome‑focused case management, ensuring all casework demonstrates processes of planning, action and review with relevant recording
  • Provide high quality written reports as part of statutory advocacy roles
  • Escalate concerns or complaints professionally to relevant public bodies as instructed by clients or otherwise where appropriate
Independent Advocate Requirements
  • Strong communication and time management skills to successfully work remotely
  • Excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and the ability to learn software packages such as client management databases
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of records and reporting to meet tight deadlines
Desirable
  • Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role within health, social care or the voluntary sector
  • Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults
  • Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations
