Job summary

A leading global provider of power solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the execution of National Grid projects. The candidate should have over 5 years of project management experience, particularly within transformer installation and delivery. Key responsibilities include managing project scope, communication, and documentation, while proactively addressing risks. A relevant Project Management qualification and experience in electrical engineering are preferable. This role is vital for enhancing grid reliability and transitioning to a sustainable energy system.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Offshore wind experience would be a bonus.

Job description

TGRC has partnered with a leading global provider of power and industrial solutions that operates within the UK, specialising in high-voltage electrical equipment and energy infrastructure projects. With a strong presence in the transmission and distribution sector, the company delivers advanced transformer and switchgear technologies to support the UK’s growing energy demands. It partners with utilities and infrastructure firms to enhance grid reliability and enable the transition to a more sustainable energy system.

Responsibilities
  • Define project scope, develop schedules, and manage project execution throughout its entire lifecycle following handover from the sales team
  • Act as the main point of contact for all project-related communication with key stakeholders, including subcontractors, HQ sales and commercial teams, factory personnel, and clients
  • Proactively identify project risks and issues in collaboration with customers, while gathering and addressing customer feedback
  • Manage all project documentation, including design files, quality records, progress reports, and contractual deliverables
  • Assist with tendering activities alongside teams in HQ, the factory, and the UK office
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned by the company
  • Primarily focused on National Grid projects, as well as other transformer-related initiatives
Experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • Transformer installation and delivery in standard NG and SPEN substations (400KV)
  • Project Management qualification (or relevant experience)
  • Electrical Engineering qualification is preferable
  • Experience in project managing the full project lifecycle (design and manufacturing subject knowledge not essential)
  • Track record of working on multiple projects simultaneously and at different lifecycle points
  • Experience managing subcontractors and liaising with customers
  • Offshore wind experience would be a bonus
