Humanities Teacher - PRU | Full-Time | Long-Term | Start Date: Christmas 2025

Are you an experienced Humanities Teacher with the skills and resilience to support young people in an alternative provision setting?

Academics is currently working with a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a full-time Humanities Teacher from Christmas 2025 on a long-term basis.

This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, ideal for a teacher who is passionate about working with students who need a different approach to learning and behaviour support.

The Role
  • Position: Humanities Teacher (flexibility across History, Geography, RE)
  • Start Date: December 2025 (Christmas Term)
  • Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
  • Location: Birmingham
  • Setting: PRU - supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and experience delivering Humanities subjects
  • Strong behaviour management and experience working with pupils with social, emotional or mental health needs (SEMH)
  • A calm, consistent and empathetic teaching approach
  • Confidence in handling challenging behaviour and adapting teaching strategies to suit individual needs
