Job description

This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead a full HR function and shape how people and culture develop within a growing organisation. It combines strategic thinking with hands‑on involvement, giving the HR Manager genuine influence across the business.

The position centres on providing practical, commercially minded HR support to managers and employees while ensuring the company has strong, consistent people processes. The HR Manager leads the HR team and also oversees Health & Safety and Hospitality teams, so it suits someone who enjoys a broad remit and cross‑functional collaboration.

A key aspect of the role is partnering with managers – guiding them, coaching them, and helping them take ownership of people management. You'll shape HR strategy, improve organisational capability, and develop policies, tools and processes that keep the organisation compliant, aligned, and operating smoothly. This includes recruitment planning, employee development, performance management, and supporting leadership teams with organisational change, restructures, and employee relations matters.

The role offers variety: from day‑to‑day people support, to broader cultural initiatives, to contributing to wider HR projects with the group’s international headquarters. It would suit someone who is comfortable balancing operational demands with long‑term improvement and who enjoys building strong, trusted relationships across all levels of a business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide generalist HR support and advice to managers and employees
  • Lead, motivate and develop the HR team
  • Oversee Health & Safety and Hospitality teams
  • Design and deliver the company’s HR strategy
  • Coach managers to ensure consistent, effective people practices
  • Support policy development and ongoing process improvement
  • Manage workforce planning and all recruitment stages
  • Own the performance management cycle, contributing to succession planning
  • Lead on employee relations, organisational change and compliance
  • Monitor HR performance and provide KPI‑based insights
  • Support delivery of group‑wide HR projects
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience leading an HR function with strategic and operational responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Confident managing and developing teams
  • Skilled at coaching and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data‑driven reporting
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills
  • Able to manage sensitive situations with balance and confidence
  • Degree‑qualified with MCIPD (or equivalent experience)
