Overview

Geotab is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner who will act as a trusted advisor to designated business groups. If you love technology and are keen to join an industry leader, we would love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, your key area of responsibility will be developing and executing people strategy with respective business leaders to drive outcomes in employee engagement, workforce planning, talent development, compensation, culture and change management. Ensure alignment with Geotab goals, policies and business initiatives. Work closely with senior leaders within the functional group as coach and mentor. You will be a strong team player capable of engaging with all levels of the organization and possess diplomacy, solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the strategic direction of HR support for designated functional groups, ensuring alignment with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Take a consultative and collaborative approach to provide HR solutions within designated business groups.
  • Develop and execute HR strategies, goals, objectives and projects in support of Geotab growth, people development and increased engagement and retention.
  • Partner with senior leaders as coach and mentor; collaborate to develop career paths, compensation plans and performance goals.
  • Support leadership in building a culture of open communication and feedback, cascading through all levels of the business line.
  • Promote positive relationships with leaders and employees to strengthen Geotab culture within business lines.
  • Advise and coach employees and leadership on HR practices; provide day-to-day performance management guidance.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; maintain records of investigations and advise stakeholders on progression.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislations related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risks and ensure compliance.
  • Develop, implement and administer new HR initiatives; introduce revised policies and process changes as needed.
  • Work with leadership on process improvements, programs, policies and facilitating changes.
  • Act as a strategic partner in the year-end KPA process.
  • Collaborate with HR and department managers regarding recruitment needs and fulfillment.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics; ensure cross-border consistency with handling ER issues as legally allowable and report on performance management trends.
  • Conduct thorough investigations when required; produce findings and recommend actions; ensure privacy and confidentiality of information (Geotab policies on Google sharing rights to confidential HR/employee information).
  • Provide leadership direction, coaching and mentorship to the HR team; align HRBPs/HRGs with strategy through delegation of tasks.
  • Support team development through coaching, feedback, and identifying growth opportunities; support performance management and career development planning.
  • Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources is an asset.
  • 5-8 years of experience as an HR Business Partner, with several years in a senior capacity, ideally within technology or high-growth sectors.
  • Experience with human resources policies and procedures; comprehensive understanding of current HR legislation and employment standards.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the business; CHRP or CHRL designation in good standing.
  • Solid understanding of employee relations; exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical competence with software programs, including Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
