Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most respected architecture practices in the industry at a pivotal stage of growth. The practice is expanding into new and emerging sectors, delivering high-profile international projects and continuing to build its global reputation for design excellence.

Following a recent team restructure, the HR function now offers clear progression pathways, broad exposure and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the people agenda. The role is based in an inspiring, design-led office, surrounded by passionate and talented people, with hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive HR advisory support across UK locations within a global architecture practice
  • Work closely with two HR Advisors to deliver a consistent, high-quality HR service
  • Lead on employee relations case management, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
  • Coach and advise line managers on UK employment law, policy and HR best practice
  • Line-manage, mentor and support the HR Coordinator, overseeing day-to-day HR administration
  • Support organisational change initiatives and contribute to HR policy and process improvements
  • Collaborate with the wider global HR team to align UK practices with global frameworks
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor (or similar) role within a design practice, architecture, engineering or professional services environment
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing UK ER cases end‑to‑end
  • Solid working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience advising and coaching line managers across a multi‑site UK organisation
  • Previous experience mentoring or line‑managing a junior HR team member (e.g. HR Coordinator)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small HR team while managing multiple priorities
  • Experience supporting organisational change and people initiatives in a fast‑paced environment
