About us

In the faculty of Medicine, we make important scientific discoveries and translate them into successful clinical treatments. Through our links with the NHS, industry and the wider University, we push the boundaries of medical research to address major healthcare issues. Our education programmes are research-embedded and enhanced by the exceptional work being done here. As we look to increase our research volume and develop enterprise, we are seeking to strengthen our governance and management of human tissue.

The role

You will work closely with HTA licence Designated Individual, University Tissue Bank Manager, Facilities Business Operations Manager and central REGO team to ensure implementation of tissue governance framework, advising on regulatory compliance and leading on continuous improvement. With an ambition to further grow research and enterprise activity, the role will be crucial to ensuring university’s compliance with the relevant legislation and will work towards continuous improvement of standards around human tissue governance and management, which will include future projects to become REC-approved (short to medium-term) and, long term, achieving ISO 20387 accreditation.

About you

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised individual with experience in regulatory affairs and in developing and managing quality control system. The post holder will be able to critically evaluate activities and make recommendations, and positively influence practice to maintain regulatory compliance. Although the individual may not have previous HTA experience, they will be expected to become a subject matter expert and provide expect advice and guidance of complex issues.
