Job summary

A leading renewable energy service provider in the UK is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to lead their HSE strategy. The role involves engaging with technicians to implement safety measures, conducting audits, and facilitating training. Candidates should possess a NEBOSH Certificate and have at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the wind industry. You will contribute to creating a safe working culture and continuous improvement in HSE practices.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate or similar.
• 3+ years experience in a similar role.
• Good IT skills with experience.
• Experience in the wind industry.
• GWO Basic Safety Training (preferable).

Responsibilities

• Engage with technicians and customers to ensure a safe working environment.

• Create specific HSE Plans for each project.

Job description

Swire Renewable Energy is looking to connect with an experienced HSE Specialist to lead different services lines, playing a key role in developing the company’s HSE strategy and lead initiatives around employee engagement with HSE and continuously identify actions improve HSE performance, culture and approach in the UK.

Principal Accountabilities

• Engage with technicians and customers to ensure a safe working environment through the implementation of SRE’s safety non-negotiables.
• Facilitate and lead in-house training with technicians regarding Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
• Create specific HSE Plans to ensure all personnel understand the individual requirements, risks and controls for each project.
• Assist in developing risk assessments and methods statements and advise on risk reduction measures.
• Perform site safety walks and behavioural safety assessments and support other less experienced colleagues.
• Conduct HSEQ audits to continually improve the business management system and maintain ISO certification.
• Ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
• Support in the closure of actions related to audits and investigations.
• Support key HSE initiatives, including campaigns and awareness.
• Any other duties as directed.
