As a full-time, entry-level HR Specialist in the British Army, you’ll:
To qualify, you must be between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months, pass a basic fitness test, and have GCSEs graded A – D / 9 – 3 in English Language and Maths (or equivalent).
Set yourself up for life.
During initial training, you’ll earn £16,844, increasing to £21,424 afterward. With dedication, you could reach the rank of Corporal within 5 years, earning £33,065.
You’ll also receive 30 days’ annual leave annually (plus bank holidays and extra leave after operations), free medical and dental care, reduced living costs, and free gym and sports facilities. Typically, you'll work from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, unless away on operations or training exercises.

After commissioning, you’ll command 30 soldiers and undergo specialist training in your chosen field, such as engineering, intelligence, or piloting. You’ll participate in adventurous training globally, from skiing in the Alps to white-water rafting in Colorado. During training, you’ll earn a starting salary of £33,183, increasing to £39,671 upon completion.
