A local charity is seeking an experienced HR professional to join its Board of Trustees as a Chair of the People and Development Committee. This unremunerated volunteer position requires significant HR expertise, strategic vision, and a commitment to nurturing an outstanding workforce. Ideal candidates will possess a CIPD Fellowship and experience in governance roles. Role Overview (Unremunerated Volunteer Position)
As a Trustee, you will ensure our charity fulfils its purpose for the public benefit and meet its key legal duties.
You will help safeguard the good name and values of Dorothy House, ensuring effective governance, responsible management of resources and financial sustainability.
Your input will be crucial in guiding the organisation’s strategic direction, setting goals, evaluating performance, and providing strong governance oversight.
As Chair of the People and Development Committee (PDC), you will lead and influence discussions on workforce planning, leadership development, organisational culture, and remuneration.
You will also support and constructively challenge the Executive Team in building a strong and sustainable workforce for the future.
