We are seeking an HR Manager or experienced HR Advisor, dedicated to their profession and with a genuine desire to contribute to the advancement of our academy and its staff. As an HR professional you will obviously have a natural ability to connect with others and be process driven to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained. You will ideally have knowledge of the education environment however we will consider applications from anyone who has an interest in our academy and its important role in the community. With your understanding of employment law, you will take the lead on this along with safeguarding and you will be able to effectively communicate proposals to all stakeholders. Preferably qualified to CIPD Level 5, we will also consider applications from candidates with a proven track record in the HR profession. Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive HR service, including strategic and operational requirements, providing value adding solutions
  • Manage the implementation of HR policies and procedures ensuring an effective and comprehensive HR function which models best practice and is compliant with legislation
  • Develop excellent working relationships with academy leaders and provide advice and guidance to the Leadership Team and stakeholders within the academy on HR and line management matters
  • Responsible for all HR services including change management, employee relations, recruitment, reward, retention and employee development
  • Play a lead role in the planning and delivery of an effective recruitment process, including adverts, documentation, selection of candidates, offers and terms of employment
  • Advise and coach managers on ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, probation and appeals
  • Manage short and long term staff absence including return to work interviews and Occupational Health referrals
  • Ensure performance management and appraisal processes are followed
  • Lead and manage staff investigations relating to conduct, capability, grievances, bullying, harassment, discrimination, and whistleblowing, ensuring compliance with employment law and education‑specific statutory guidance.
