3 Month Contract With A local Authority

Job Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and professional Human Resources Consultant to provide high-quality HR advice and support to Council managers and staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in resolving a wide range of employee relations issues while contributing to the continuous improvement of HR & Organisational Development (OD) service delivery.

The post holder will be expected to manage cases independently as well as collaborate closely with the wider HR & OD Advisory team Business Support and Health Safety and Wellbeing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on a range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence and conduct issues.
  • Support managers with informal and formal casework ensuring compliance with employment law and Council policies.
  • Build effective working relationships with managers to develop HR solutions that support operational objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records and documentation.
  • Work independently and manage a personal caseload efficiently.
  • Contribute to policy development and HR initiatives as part of the HR & OD team.
  • Collaborate with Business Support and Health Safety and Wellbeing colleagues to provide flexible and joined‑up HR services.
  • Support continuous service improvement by sharing knowledge and contributing to team development.
