Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a part-time Senior HR Advisor to provide guidance on HR policies and manage employee relations cases. The ideal candidate will have previous HR Advisory experience, excellent employment law knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. The position is for 22.5 hours a week with flexible working hours. Responsibilities include advising managers, supporting training initiatives, and overseeing onboarding processes. This role offers a competitive salary of £34,000 to £35,000 pro rata.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely advice to managers on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support and manage employee relations cases including disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Attend and support formal meetings and hearings.
  • Maintain up-to-date case notes and ensure documentation compliance.
  • Comply with Health & Safety policies and carry out housekeeping.
  • Produce letters, contracts, and amendments.
  • Ensure HR processes comply with legal and regulatory duties.
  • Identify training needs through performance discussions.
  • Support training program coordination.
  • Assist in reviewing HR policies for legal compliance.
  • Contribute to HR service delivery improvement projects.
  • Support performance management processes.
  • Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Support HR initiatives like well-being.
  • Provide cover for the HR Manager as needed.
  • Support recruitment campaigns.
  • Conduct interviews and support selection processes.
  • Oversee onboarding processes for new starters.

Skills

Previous experience in an HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor role
Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
Experience handling complex employee relations cases
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Experience using HR information systems
Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality

Education

A qualification in HR e.g. CIPD Level 5
Job description

My client is currently recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor 22.5 hours per week, 34,000 - 35,000 DOE Pro Rata

Duties to include
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Support and manage employee relations cases including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
  • Attend and support formal meetings, hearings, and investigations.
  • Maintain up-to-date case notes and ensure documentation is compliant.
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
  • Produce letters, contracts and contract amendments.
  • Ensure HR processes comply with legal, regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Identify training needs through performance discussions
  • Support the coordination of training programs.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures, ensuring they comply with legal requirements
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR service delivery.
  • Support the performance management process, including reviewing objectives, probation feedback and development plans.
  • Respond to routine HR enquiries from employees and managers.
  • Support HR initiatives including well-being and engagement.
  • Provide cover for the HR Manager during periods of absence when appropriate.
  • Support recruitment campaigns including reviewing job descriptions and advertising roles.
  • Conduct interviews with managers and support the selection processes.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction processes to ensure new starters have a positive experience.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor role.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Experience using HR information systems.
  • Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • A qualification in HR e.g. CIPD Level 5 as a minimum.

Other Information
