Pay, Terms and Conditions are a team within the Human Resources and Workforce Development Directorate. We aim to provide an excellent service, specialising in HR workstreams including Job Evaluation, Organisational Change, Redeployment, TUPE, Agenda for Change and Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of employment.
Due to additional funding, we have an opportunity for an HR Advisor to join the team on a fixed-term contract/secondment until 31 March 2026.
The HR Advisor will be a key point of contact for our internal customer queries received in person, via video call or written enquiries.
We are looking for an individual to join the team who has experience of advising as part of an HR team or applying HR-related processes in a large organisation. The candidate should expect the variety and pace that comes from advising daily on different workstreams and working with different specialists. Knowledge of employment law/guidance relevant to the specialisms is required.
You should have experience of participating/facilitating groups/panels and can clearly communicate verbally and in writing with a range of stakeholders, particularly partnership representatives. You should demonstrate sensitivity and confidentiality when responding to enquiries.
You should be experienced in using systems including Microsoft 365 and hold or have the equivalent relevant knowledge and experience of a Degree in Human Resource Management (or similar business/communications subject).
The candidate will take responsibility for delivering their work activities and have an eye for detail to ensure processes and information systems are accurate.
This post will be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. Currently hybrid working. The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
