Housing Options Officer (DHH108)

Band F (SCP 12 – 19) - £28,598 - £32,061 per annum
37 hours per week, Permanent

A unique opportunity is available to join our award-winning Housing Options Team and provide advice and assistance to households experiencing homelessness.

We are looking for an individual who is determined to break down barriers in order to find creative and innovative solutions to complex issues, that will prevent vulnerable households from becoming homeless. You will have the opportunity to use homeless legislation, policy and procedure to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people.

Key responsibilities
  • Assessing housing and support needs for applicants who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
  • Working with a wide range of partner agencies to find solutions to address the support and housing needs of applicants.
  • Working with applicants and partners in order to agree personalised housing plans.
  • Making statutory decisions regarding homelessness in accordance with current legislation.
  • Taking proactive steps to reduce rough sleeping and prevent homelessness.
  • Managing our waiting list and nomination agreements with registered providers.
