Adecco are please to be recruiting for a Housing Officer to work within the South Gloucestershire Council. We are looking for a dedicated Housing Officer to join our South Gloucestershire Homes service, based in Kingswood, Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Role details
  • Position: Housing Officer
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Hourly Rate: £16.37 per hour
  • Working Pattern: Full Time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
  • End Date: at least the End December 2025
Responsibilities
  • Manage private rented tenancies on behalf of landlords across the South Gloucestershire area.
  • Oversee property management, including rent accounts and managing arrears.
  • Issue notices when required and handle anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues effectively.
  • Liaise directly with landlords, including potential new landlords, to build strong relationships.
  • Identify suitable new tenants and complete tenancy agreements and inventory reports.
  • Recognise support needs and signpost tenants to necessary resources, as accommodation is focused on preventing and relieving homelessness.
What You Bring / Qualifications
  • Proven experience in property management, ideally with a focus on managing Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
  • A solid understanding of tenancy laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with landlords and tenants alike.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and an understanding of the support needs of vulnerable individuals.
