Job description

Salary: Grade E (scp 6 £25,989), for 1-6 months, Grade F (scp 9 £27,254) for 6-12 months, and Grade G (scp 13 £29,064) for the final year 13‑24 months.

Grade: E, F and G

Contract: 2 years fixed term as part of North Yorkshire graduate programme

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire

We are seeking a graduate trainee for Housing Needs, primarily supporting the operational and strategic needs for the teams in the West of North Yorkshire. The graduates in the team work well together, supporting managers and team leaders with several working groups and service development opportunities.

The role is based in Northallerton but requires travel to all localities in North Yorkshire. If you want to develop diverse skills, this position could be ideal for you.

Responsibilities

• Support the Housing Needs and Housing Options Managers in delivering an efficient and effective housing needs service
• Assisting the Housing Needs Service Managers with performance management analysis, benchmarking and collation of best practice for service development
• Support managers to review and develop risk assessments and policies and procedures for the service
• Assistance with service improvement task and finish groups
• Support for data collection, reports for homelessness, rough sleeper work, young persons pathway, support services and service delivery changes
• Provide low level support with clients on housing applications, assistance with benefits, budgeting to support the team
• Shadowing front line officers to develop knowledge of Housing Act and Homelessness legislation
