Housing Management Solicitor / Associate | 1-7 PQE | Leading National Firm | Birmingham

BCL Legal is delighted to be assisting a highly regarded national law firm with a strong reputation in housing law, seeking a Housing Management Solicitor or Associate to join their expanding team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with between 1 and 7 years' PQE to work on a broad range of housing management matters within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Team

The Housing Management team is one of the largest and fastest-growing practices in the country, advising a wide range of social landlords, including major housing associations, local authorities, care providers, NHS bodies, and charities. The team is recognised for delivering practical, commercially focused advice on complex housing management issues.

You will be joining a dynamic team that operates flexibly with a hybrid working model, prioritising quality client service and innovative solutions.

The Role

Working alongside experienced lawyers and partners, you will:

  • Manage your own caseload of housing management disputes and advisory matters
  • Advise social landlords and other landlords on a variety of issues including:
    • Injunction claims (including access for gas and electricity safety)
    • Disrepair and possession claims
    • Cases involving the Equality Act 2010 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
    • Breach of tenancy and failed succession cases
    • Leasehold management and service charge disputes
    • Draft and review legal documents, settlement agreements, and court applications
    • Liaise closely with clients and stakeholders to provide clear, commercial advice
    • Support business development initiatives and contribute to team growth
About You

You will be a qualified solicitor with:

  • Between 1 and 7 years' PQE, preferably with experience acting for social landlords, housing associations or public sector clients
  • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • The ability to manage client expectations and deliver to agreed KPIs
  • Confidence working directly with clients and building strong professional relationships
  • A practical, commercial approach and a genuine commitment to the social housing sector
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
