Job Description

Our busy hotel is seeking an energetic, customer-oriented maintenance engineer to ensure that all of our visitors have an excellent experience at our property. You'll be in charge of the building's maintenance and preventative programs daily to ensure people's enjoyment, health, and safety. Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all engineering safety rules and regulations.
  • Work in collaboration with other technicians who will assist you with a variety of maintenance tasks.
  • React to emergencies that happen before, during, and after your regular work shifts.
  • Use a wide range of tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, indicators, edge finders, drills, wrenches, and additional equipment.
  • Complete all work orders and fix maintenance problems promptly.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, ensuring that all mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are functioning optimally.
  • Ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are well-maintained and in compliance with quality standards.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing guest and staff safety.
  • Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all hotel equipment, building systems, and assets.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors for repairs and maintenance, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Ensure the engineering team is properly equipped and trained to handle daily tasks and emergency situations.
  • Assign daily tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training to improve team skills.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Stellar communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are needed.
  • 2-4 years of maintenance experience is required for this role.
  • Good knowledge of computer software; preferably facilities management software.
