Job Title

Hospitality Lecturer and Assessor - Colchester (with travel outside of the Area)

Role Summary

In this role as a Hospitality Lecturer and Assessor, you’ll take on the responsibility of Course Leadership, while mentoring and assessing a caseload of full-time students and apprentices studying a wide-ranging Hospitality curriculum — including all Food Studies courses at Levels 1, 2, and 3. You will play a pivotal part in developing knowledge, skills, and behaviours through strategic planning and robust assessment practices — all geared toward preparing learners for synoptic assessments and End Point Assessments (EPA). The ultimate goal is ensuring every student and apprentice completes their qualification and excels in their final assessments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on commercial and adult-funded programmes, including BIIAB Personal Licence courses.
  • Split lecturing role: 2 days per week delivering FE provision; 3 days per week delivering apprenticeship provision.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Education to level 3 or above in Hospitality.
  • Essential: Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE (4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent).
  • Essential: Level 5 Teaching Qualification.
  • Essential: Assessor/Verifier Awards.
Experience
  • Experience of working in the Hospitality Sector across Events, Front of House, Team member (Food and Beverage) and Food Production.
  • Relevant experience desirable in Commi Chef and Chef de Partie.
