Job summary

A healthcare provider in Shepton Mallet is seeking an enthusiastic Bank Pharmacist to join their supportive Pharmacy team. This flexible role involves delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care, supporting safe prescribing, and ensuring positive patient outcomes. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Pharmacy and possess strong clinical knowledge and communication skills. An hourly rate of £39.35 is offered, along with the opportunity to contribute to a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • A Masters degree in Pharmacy and GPhC registration.
  • Clinical experience gained in a pharmacy setting, ideally including hospital exposure.
  • Confident clinical reasoning skills and up-to-date pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A patient-safety-first mindset and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • The ability to adapt, prioritise and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based clinical pharmacy support to consultants, nurses and other clinicians.
  • Deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centred medicines management.
  • Offer clear, accessible advice to patients and staff to ensure medicines are used appropriately.
  • Support the monitoring, review, and supply of medicines across inpatient and perioperative pathways.
  • Assist in meeting statutory and professional requirements around the safe management of medicines.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, safety standards, antimicrobial stewardship and enhanced recovery pathways.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GPhC, NICE and Practice Plus Group standards.
