Overview

Our client is seeking a Home Interiors Support Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail showroom within the Home Interiors Centre. This full-time role involves working closely with the Department Manager, Supervisors, and Assistant Managers, ensuring the retail environment meets high standards of customer service and health and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising sales opportunities while actively seeking efficiencies to enhance profitability.

Job Duties
  • Oversee the daily operations of the retail showroom.
  • Maintain excellent shop floor and health and safety standards.
  • Identify and act upon sales opportunities to achieve maximum profitability.
  • Manage departmental resources efficiently and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Organise customer care activities related to enquiries, sales, deliveries, complaints, and after-service support.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding pricing, profit margins, and personnel details.
  • Ensure effective management of departmental staff, including Supervisors and Assistant Managers.
  • Conduct training and development for employees, including induction and performance appraisals.
  • Manage product portfolios, conduct stock takes, and ensure product security.
  • Plan and organise work for departmental employees to meet sales needs.
  • Develop and maintain effective systems of work and adhere to established procedures.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong people management and team-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a good level of initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and negotiate with confidence.
  • Financial awareness, including pricing strategies and achieving profit targets.
  • Capability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Professional demeanour, with reliability and logical thinking.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances while remaining calm under pressure.
