Pay: £14.10 per hour

Hours: Part time, 24 hours per week

As a Home Delivery Driver, you will be a key part of the team that delivers everything our online customers shop at Sainsbury’s to their doorsteps.

Eligibility
  • Must be over 18 and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
  • Will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview and, if successful, a driving assessment upon joining.
  • Must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Driving a 3.5‑tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps on time and in excellent condition.
  • Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy; securing delivery cases before driving in a variety of locations and conditions.
  • Serving customers brilliantly, supporting with questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays.
  • Building knowledge about products, services and promotions to provide recommendations.
  • When not delivering, helping across the store as needed.

  • Proficient in driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, and carrying deliveries to a range of residential properties.

  • Ready to work flexibly and productively to a high standard across the store when needed; fully trained in a variety of skills and ready to learn and develop.
  • Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology to do the job brilliantly, and capable of moving containers up to 15 kg.
Shift Hours
  • Early shift: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Wednesday: 14:00 – 23:00
  • Friday: 10:00 – 19:00
