Job Title: Home Care Regulatory Affairs Manager, Unilever Professional Function R&D

Reporting to Regulatory Lead, Global UPro

Job Purpose

Acts as regulatory first point of contact for the HC Unilever Professional (UPro) organization. Leads the regulatory strategy, organisation and guidance for HC Unilever Professional (UPro) innovation, advocacy, and compliance programmes together with any relevant new technology programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the regulatory input to the HC Unilever Professional innovation projects
  • Deliver day-to-day strategic regulatory guidance, assessments, and operational inputs to the UPro innovation projects and future technologies on time in full at a global level plus for the key countries in which the products are to be marketed.
  • Is an expert on worldwide regulations governing Home Care products in general plus global regulatory developments which impact professional Home Care products, and through strong strategic influencing skills, ensures that these developments are incorporated into the HC Unilever Professional innovation programme.
  • Together with Unilever Regulatory colleagues, defines and oversees the building and maintenance of the global HC Unilever Professional product dossiers.
  • Creates & maintains the relevant global HC professional regulatory affairs network
  • Monitors regulatory activities and challenges in markets.
  • Prepares global regulatory summaries for specific product areas.
  • Maintains information-sharing systems to ensure access and alignment on regulatory topics across the category and in the regulatory affairs capability.
  • Provides expertise to support local teams to respond effectively and with speed to Regulatory Authority questions on product registrations.
  • Manages regulatory affairs for HC Unilever Professional: Delivers global regulatory updates on legislation affecting the category and gives training as required. Delivers global coordination of the Unilever positions in the face of new regulations or amendments in local markets.
  • Be the global regulatory expert in the HC professional claims, including developing claims guidelines by working with scientific writers, Legal, CTI, GDC/S&T to build robust substantiation to enable the landing of claims in local markets.
  • Provides regulatory input to the management of globally relevant issues and opportunities.
  • Be an issue leader of topics related to HC professional and anticipate regulatory challenges for the future, which may drive the external influencing agenda for the category.
  • Execute regulatory risk assessments and participate in stress tests.
  • Provide regulatory input in case of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Manages and/or supports HC Unilever Professional advocacy topics: Ensure HC Professional needs are inputted into the wider Home Care advocacy plan with assigned key topics. Be a Regulatory leader for specific key topics by ensuring objective setting, delivery of plans, managing communications cross-functionally, stakeholder management etc. Represent Unilever externally for specific advocacy topics if required. Monitor the external and internal environment to identify threats/opportunities and communicates with impact to stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains excellent interfaces with internal and external relevant partners
  • Represents RA in other UL functions (SERS, External Affairs, Legal, R&D Professional) on relevant topic(s).
  • Has direct contact/represent UL in external bodies e.g. Trade associations, scientific bodies, key opinion formers.

Category R&D and Brand Development teams delivering HC Unilever Professional innovations, Regulatory Lead for Global UPro, Head of Home Care Regulatory Affairs and full Home Care Regulatory Affairs team, Global Regulatory Affairs leadership team, External Affairs, Corporate Communications, Legal, Safety & Environmental Assurance Centre and external supply partners.

Education :

Minimum BS, preferably an M.S. or PhD in Biological Science, Toxicology, Environmental Science or Chemistry or equivalent.

Experience :

Significant experience of the regulatory requirements that govern the Professional Home Care industry, preferably globally, and preferably with experience in the product development area. Experience in obtaining any necessary product or active substance registrations in one or more regions. Ability to work with external consultants in different markets to deliver the regulatory strategies for the Unilever Professional business. A proven track record in supporting the development, research, and regulatory affairs functions and preferably experience of working in an external environment (such as trade associations, Regulatory Authorities, etc.). Extensive experience of successful stakeholder management, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, together with extensive strategic influencing skills. Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever.
