Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant secondary school in Preston. This is a varied and rewarding position, offering the opportunity to work across a range of subjects and year groups. The role will be split between providing high-quality classroom support as a Teaching Assistant and stepping in as a Cover Supervisor to deliver pre-prepared lessons during staff absence.

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning across a range of subjects and age groups.
  • Deliver planned lessons to classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
Qualifications
  • Holds HLTA status (or equivalent experience).
  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students.
  • Can confidently lead a class and follow set lesson plans.
  • Is flexible, organised, and able to adapt quickly to different situations.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
