Overview

Academics is working in partnership with a small, welcoming primary school situated in Watford within a friendly local federation to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career, within a supportive, nurturing, and forward‑thinking school environment. Responsibilities
  • Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support high‑quality teaching and learning
  • Leading and monitoring targeted interventions and evaluating pupil progress
  • Supporting, directing, and guiding other teaching assistants
  • Working with individuals and small groups of pupils, including those with SEND, to raise attainment and promote independence
  • Delivering lessons and leading learning activities under the direction of teaching staff
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently using initiative and creativity
  • Thrives in a small, collaborative team environment and demonstrates flexibility and a positive sense of humour
