A local government authority in Thurrock is seeking a Highways Technician Multiskilled to manage reactive highway maintenance tasks. Overview

Highways Technician Multiskilled

Salary: £33,531 - £38,052 per annum

Grade: D

Permanent Contract • 37 Hours per Week

Responsibilities

• Deliver reactive highway maintenance including carriageway and footway repairs, highway drainage and supporting the delivery of Highway Emergency and Winter Maintenance services.
• Work as part of a frontline team at the Operations depot in West Thurrock.
• Carry out work of a physically demanding nature outdoors in all weather.
• Be on standby for out of hours working as part of the emergency response and winter maintenance service on a callout rota.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience using associated highway plant, tools & equipment, materials and repair techniques.
• Aware of the principles of traffic management from current, previous or similar roles.
• Essential: full current UK/EU driving licence – Category C entitlement; DQC would be an advantage.
• Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is not required for this post.
