Overview

We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative – Road Marking to join our Transportation team based in Birmingham. This role offers a fantastic pension scheme, a competitive annual holiday entitlement, and more. As a Road Marker, you will undertake all aspects of road marking works and associated highway maintenance, including minor civil works or other highways related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive/operate specialist lining vehicle/plant, perform vehicle checks, routine maintenance (e.g. oil and water checks), and cleaning.
  • Undertake all aspects of road marking and other specialist surface application works, including high‑friction surface asphalt imprint and routine and cyclic maintenance activities.
  • Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others on the team, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public.
Qualifications
  • Drive and hold a full driving licence.
  • Category C licence.
  • Knowledge of highways works.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Disability Confident.
