Highways Lighting Design Engineer – National Highways SDF

Rate: £40–£50 per hour (Umbrella) – negotiable based on experience
Location: UK-wide (Flexible – offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and others)
Contract: Long-term (aligned with the National Highways Scheme Development Framework)
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible working arrangements)

Morson Edge is partnering with a leading international design consultancy delivering on the National Highways Scheme Development Framework on street lighting. We are seeking an experienced Highways Lighting Design Engineer to join a high-profile, long-term programme shaping the future of the UK's road infrastructure. The succesful Highways Lighting Design Engineer will have experience of working on multiple street lighting projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical reports, feasibility studies, designs, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Conduct daytime and night-time site surveys of street lighting
  • Support Environmental Impact Assessments, Economic Assessments, and Business Case development.
  • Collaborate with clients, electricity suppliers, contractors, professional bodies, sub-consultants, and multidisciplinary design teams.
