A local government organization in Bolton is seeking a Chartered Civil Engineer to lead the delivery of highway and civil engineering projects. The role involves managing a capital budget and a team, with a focus on innovative solutions and collaboration with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract and budget management, as well as strong communication and team leadership skills. To lead the delivery of the capital programme and of projects in relation to highway, street lighting and associated civil engineering works.
Responsibilities for the capital budget and a team of design and project management staff, including consultants and contractors.
Lead on the procurement and delivery of all highway projects.
Develop and implement programmes for the capital maintenance of the highway asset.
Manage S278 developments on the highway.
Be familiar with current Health & Safety requirements for construction work.
You will be a Chartered civil engineer with extensive experience in contract and budget management. You will have extensive experience on the delivery of highway and civil engineering schemes within time and budget.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build relationships with delivery partners, stakeholders, colleagues, developers and contractors.
You will have experience of managing a multidisciplinary team of staff and be able to motivate and develop staff to their full potential.
You will be able to look at innovative solutions to problems.
