Job description
Overview

We're launching a brand-new community Speech & Language Therapy service, and we're looking for therapists to join our team and help shape how rehabilitation services are delivered. You\'ll support people in their own homes, care homes and outpatient settings across the southwest of Hampshire. Our patients include those recovering from strokes, people living with Parkinson\'s disease or dementia, and frail or older individuals who need support with communication or swallowing. Your role will involve leading on the development of this new service, carrying out assessments, developing care plans to improve safety, independence, and quality of life, and you\'ll work with colleagues to ensure that care is delivered where it\'s needed most. You\'ll provide clinical leadership within the team, supporting junior colleagues and contributing to multidisciplinary working. You\'ll also have access to career progression opportunities, structured training, competency signoffs and CPD to help you continue to grow.

This is a Monday to Friday service with no weekend, nights or on-call work. Responsibilities
  • To be a source of expertise and support to colleagues across the service and will work with other statutory and independent agencies to ensure a holistic approach to client management.
  • To develop and deliver effective training programmes to carers and other health professionals within area of specialism.
  • To pursue and acquire ongoing knowledge and expertise for practice.
  • Manage caseload of clients within the community and oversee caseload for junior staff.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive programmes of intervention for clients who require intensive rehabilitation in the community.
  • To supervise and train junior members of staff and rehabilitation assistants.
