Overview

A Vacancy at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). An exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Pharmacist to join the rheumatology and gastroenterology team at North Manchester General Hospital. You will deliver a high‑quality, patient‑focused clinical pharmacy service to inpatient and outpatient service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy input to inpatient and outpatient rheumatology and gastroenterology services, including home‑care services.
  • Promote the responsible, safe, clinically‑effective and cost‑effective use of medicines within the specialties.
  • Support education and development of medical, nursing and pharmacy staff, acting as a Highly Specialist Pharmacist.
  • Lead and manage pharmacy activities, including deputising for the Lead Pharmacist when required.
  • Establish effective relationships with clinical staff and other stakeholders to optimise patient care.
  • Develop leadership and management capabilities within the Pharmacy department.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Highly Specialist Pharmacist with a proven track record in specialist clinical pharmacy.
  • Prior experience in rheumatology or gastroenterology is desirable but not essential; passion for the specialties is required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage an individual workload effectively.
